One of the first things you'll notice is that everything has an informal
feel about it. Casual dress, relaxed conversations, small children playing
on a rug at the back. During the opening announcements, a tin of chocolates
is passed round – our welcome gift to you.
There’s
a time of worship to God where we'll sing for about 25 to 30 minutes,
aiming to draw close to God through contemporary worship songs, led by
some of our musicians. Vineyard music is known for being contemporary
and dynamic so, for instance, we have a small band rather than a choir
and an organ.
After
worship we may wait on God to see what He wants to do . . . or have a 10 minute break for coffee and doughnuts.
Teaching
After the break, Tony our pastor will begin to teach. He uses the bible
to equip us for life and ministry, speaking about biblical foundations
and issues relevant to life today. The sermon normally lasts for about
25 minutes.
Ministry
Every service culminates in an invitation for the Holy Spirit to challenge
and change us . . . to move and refresh us . . . to fill and release us.
Individual prayer ministry is always available.
Children’s
Groups
The children generally start off with us in the hall during the worship,
though the youngest are sometimes involved in cutting / pasting or other
creative activities. After the worship, they'll head out to their groups
for relevant teaching whilst adults listen to the sermon.
A crèche area is provided in a separate hall, but a parent may need
to accompany their child.
We
aim to finish at 12 noon.
